Saturday 31st August: All the brands taking part in our Gipsy Hill Brewery Taproom market

We love hosting markets at a varied array of venues and that’s why we’re so excited to be back on home turf at Gipsy Hill Brewery Taproom this summer! Nestled in the heart of our local community in South East London, the Taproom is a really cool space that combines an outdoor yard with a brewery, bar and an indoor event space which is where we’ll be hosting our market! It’s not our most glamorous venue but is special in the hearts of locals for so many reasons and we’re sooo proud to be popping up there again.

As well as our indoor market which will feature 30 different small brands from around the UK each day, you'll be able to order pints, eat delicious street food and find a table to sit down with friends and family to enjoy the day, all in one place. The venue has everything you’ll want all in one place; bevvies from Gipsy Hill Brewery, street food from KERB and of course our market! The perfect way to spend your weekend with friends and pups. Here are the amazing brands that will be trading with us on Saturday 31st August, and as always we’ll have a completely different line-up of traders for Sunday 1st September which you can find here.

Live Activation

Elettr: Live calligraphy at our market! We are so excited to welcome calligraphy artist Ellie to our market for the first time, where, alongside her range of screen printed tees and more, she’ll be offering her live calligraphy services! Have your name, phrase or a choice of word written right in front of your eyes. Watching her manipulate pens and ink into stunning letter art is absolutely mesmerising; you can see the craft and skill involved in this age-old art, and we love that Ellie is making it relevant for new audiences! Obsessed!

Fashion

Batch1: Independent and sustainable streetwear, perfect to throw on for cute and casual weekend looks with your fave jeans. These soft organic cotton tees are designed and printed with original graphics in London by designer and founder Rodney using only water-based and environmentally friendly inks. Our fave designs feature comfort food classics, like the humble cheesy pizza, fish finger sarnie, cacio e pepe (niche and I love it!) and it wouldn’t be South London without mention of fried chicken too. Shop the collection of unisex tees and sweats in sizes XS-XXL from £25 at our market.

Handbags & Accessories

NEW! Sand With Studio: Contemporary Northern knitwear for the everyday, that’s handmade in Manchester using a vintage industrial machine! Please welcome Sand With Studio to our market for the very first time. Using almost exclusively natural fibres sourced from local suppliers, maker Eve crafts pieces that can be styled up or down, so you can love and repeat wear your piece every single day. Bags, bonnets, scrunchies that tie with a bow, every piece finished in the gorgeously tonal and slightly sludgy (in the BEST way) colour palette that’s chic, versatile and easily paired. I’m so excited about this one!

Staise: It wouldn’t be a good market day without the cutest most colourful frilly and chubby scrunchies for you to treat yourself to! So we’re absolutely chuffed and buzzing to welcome Staise to Salad Days. Entirely handmade by maker Anastasia, these gorgeous hair accessories can be yours from just £15. Available in a wide selection of colours, trims and patterns, you’ll be sure to find one or two (or maybe, 10) that are perfect for you.

Jewellery

NEW! Pupper Stories: If you’ve ever felt personally attacked by the TikToks that talk about how millennials should stop treating their dogs like their children, then I’m so pleased to have found my people because I am absolutely THRILLED to welcome iconic brand Pupper Stories to our next market. This is matching jewellery for dogs and their humans! And now I might cry because honestly these pieces are the cutest, most adorable and also stylish I’ve ever seen. Pre-order personalised hand-stamped necklaces with names for you and your furry friend. Choose from organic round, or heart shaped charms and your choice of colourful cord to really make these pieces your own. I am genuinely obsessed at the loving sentiment of these. Every piece is carefully handmade especially for you.

NEW! Doa: Jeweller Katie set up her brand, Doa, meaning 'a little mark' at the end of 2019 as that's what she was hoping to make in the industry; a small but mighty and positive impact. Inspired by surrealism, Katie has been exploring with wax, creating unique pieces in response to celebrated artists like Miro. Chunky, creative and experimental, this jewellery is crafted from recycled materials and we’re so proud to welcome them to the market for the very first time.

Sharlala Jewellery: Firm favourite Sharlala Jewellery is back for our next market and we know you’re going to be seriously excited about the pieces she’s bringing with her! Talented Sharla first started learning to make jewellery over 15 years ago, finally starting her brand in 2016. Over the years Sharla has steadily built a loyal and loving customer base of adoring wearers who love her not just because her designs are gorg but cause she’s kind, knowledgeable and such an expert, you can’t help but become a customer for life. All Sharla’s stones are ethically sourced, and pieces are made using recycled silver and gold too, so you can feel extra good about your shiny new purchase.

Manom Jewellery: Prepare to be mesmerised at maker Mayo’s stall. This South London jeweller is a master at creating the most mind-blowingly intricate jewellery that’s steeped in romantic fairytale references. Tiny opening doors, minuscule moons, romantic pearls, and tiny painted scenescapes. Just wow! We’re always blown away by everything talented Mayo creates, and especially for the market you’ll find brand new charms you can pick-and-mix to create your very own personalised charm necklace. Just so magical and special.

Mikaela Lyons Jewellery: I’m so pleased to introduce you to the wonderful jewellery of Mikaela Lyons. You’ll notice a lot of Mikaela’s designs feature her iconic lioness head. The animal inspired her first collection in 2017, a symbol of strength, identity and equality, a reminder of her choice to keep her maiden name ‘Lyons’ after she got married. The bestselling icon remains just as important today as it was then! Each of her pieces is responsibly and lovingly made in England, meaning when you shop with her you’re helping to support traditional crafts. You’re voting for ethical, sustainable production, and original design. Plus Mikaela will be travelling all the way from up North to trade with us, so it’s the perfect chance to try things on and treat yourself while she’s here in the capital.

Jo Cooper Jewellery: Probably some of of the most unique pieces of jewellery I’ve seen for a long time! If you were born in the 90s I know Jo’s jewellery is going to speak to your heart - her curvy flower rings, love hearts, mixed coloured gems and floating bubble rings are straight out of our fave decade! The talented Jo is a master at handmaking unique sterling silver jewellery, all set with natural gemstones with the same stunning organic feel, in her Hertfordshire studio, and we’re thrilled to have her returning to our next market!

Skincare & Beauty

Palm of Feronia: Bestselling brand Palm Of Feronia returns to our market with their crystal charged, natural skincare for the soul. Formulated and blended by hand in South London by founder Soph, each product is rooted in ancient traditions and herbal lore. Everything is vegan and cruelty free, and these products work! Especially for the market Soph is bringing her brand new summer scent, August Nectar, for you to smell and buy for the first time ever. This unisex fragrance is juicy, evocative and perfectly captures balmy days you don’t want to forget. Divine.

Ceramics

Ruffles & Riot: I literally DIE over how cute every single piece from Ruffles and Riot is. The sardine tins! The candle snuffers shaped like fruits! The cheese and olive platter! The daisy shaped dishes! The mix-and-match charms that come in sooo many cute shapes!!!!!!!! These are the sort of ceramic pieces you would have sketched as a child before the words ‘neutral’ or ‘timeless’ entered your vocabulary. Maker Sahiba designs and handmakes every single magical piece, and especially for market day she’s launching a brand new candle-holder collection too. My heart can’t take anymore!

Eloise Rose Design: We always want to bring you something special to market day, and I have fallen head over heels in love with talented maker Eloise’s brand new initial pendants, handmade from ceramic and individually handpainted and finished with 24 carat gold! Inspired by our ultimate Tudor Queen, Anne Boleyn and her iconic pearl B necklace, wear the initial of your loved one, your pet or yourself! Find these along the collection of handmade ceramic pieces like mugs and platters (omg the platters people!) all inspired by classic British heritage. I know I shouldn’t have favourites, but Eloise has got to be one of I’d personally love to shop with again and again.

Simon Caffyn Studio: Sophie and Rebekah make a combination of handbuilt and thrown ceramics with quaint and colourful food and nature-inspired paintings. Discover their take on your favourite seasonal summer foods, like tomatoes and strawberries amongst other bestselling designs like their multicloured carrots (therse sold out last time!) Each piece is handmade in South London which of course we absolutely love, and this wonderful pair are not just super talented but also just gorgeously friendly and lovely too.

Art, Prints & Paper Goods

NEW! Mike Green Illustration: There’s a very special, magical and fairytale like quality to artist Mike’s beautiful illustrations that really captured my heart and imagination. It’s in his gentle, pastel coloured palette and the friendly, slightly cartoon-like way he depicts our city, the people and animals here. (Mike has a whole series on pigeon positivity, which I love.) Capturing iconic scenes like Primrose Hill, Borough Market and even South London favourites like Bromley Picturehouse, these London locations and landmarks look more beautiful than ever through Mike’s lens.

Sent With Liv: Bespoke illustrations and event stationery! Artist Liv has cleverly designed a range of tickets and vouchers that can be personalised for special occasions, and you’ll be able to get your very own personalised piece at our market inside Gipsy Hill Brewery Taproom. Whether it’s for a romantic night in, a special holiday or an invitation to have a cocktail together, these unique vouchers hand drawn by the artist are the cutest thoughtful gift for any loved one. Simply choose your design and Olivia can add a name, event and date on the day.

Sarah Goodwin: Sarah Goodwin is a South London based artist and print designer who loves painting classic, timeless motifs in bold and unusual colour combinations. These original works of art go on to become beautiful paper goods and giclée prints which are available at our next market. Concerned with only providing the highest quality products, everything is printed in London on velvet-textured paper from an 18th century English mill. Sarah hopes to bring colour, joy and a creative twist to your home decor. Especially for market day find her NEW multicoloured stripe design and stripey mounts. Obsessed.

Ana Gallego: Illustrator Ana has lived in South London for the last decade, discovering many favourite spots along the way. Pubs, cafes and independent businesses have all been lovingly hand-painted by Ana in watercolour. The detail is exquisite! Honestly you wouldn’t believe how tiny some of her paintbrushes are, that allow her to really add every minute little flourish to create the most amazing likeness. Some iconic and grand, some old and run down, some teeny tiny little holes in the wall and some huge. Whether it’s a chicken shop, an Indian restaurant, a cinema, an arcade, or shop-front covered in graffiti, they each get the same careful and special treatment from Ana. It just goes to show the incredible versatility in our city! Wherever you live, I’m sure in her vast collection there’s a building that’s meaningful and personal to you! Find Ana at our next market with new designs too.

Rosetta Studio: Artist Rose’s paintings are like the personification of summer! Her whole ethos is about spreading joy through floral masterpieces and my heart really feels that through her vibrant, heartfelt and busting-with-life cards! Each one is totally handpainted and completely one of a kind, a mini original work of art, which is almost unheard of in the industry. On market day, Rose will also be offering personalisation on her cards - add a name, a date or a message to make it truly personal. Why not send one of these special handpainted keepsakes to someone you love, just to tell them they’re great.

The Stationer: After a life-long obsession with stationery, in 2014 Tessa started a blog about it. Assuming she was writing into the ether, she was surprised to find a massive community around the world with the same obsession! The obvious next step was to open her very own online shop selling the world's best stationery, tried and tested by the Queen herself. Tessa has since designed her own collection of paper goods also available to shop alongside her curation of pens, pencils, crayons, highlighters, notebooks, planners, stickers, and everything else you might need to stock your desk perfectly. Especially for the market, find a cleverly curated Back-To-School bundle that’s everything Tessa recommends to set yourself up for success, stationery wise!

Homeware

Lazy Home: Thinking about the monumental amount of luck and chance it takes for a specific piece of vintage to find it’s way to you is so mind boggling! All the hurdles that a set of coloured glass plates, or pair of candlesticks had to make to stay in pristine condition, as a complete set, and then eventually end up at a local market for you to discover and fall in love with.  That’s why when the right piece of vintage comes along you have to grab the opportunity to snap it up quickly! Who knows if you’ll ever have the chance again! We are pleased as punch to share that vintage curator Jade is bringing a cracking curation of vintage homeware to our next market and we can’t wait to see what you’ll find at her stall!

AMI London: AMI London is a skincare and wellness brand formulated by a black woman with black women in mind. Every product is made by the talented Dami in London using natural, uncomplicated ingredients that are vegan and cruelty-free, with absolutely nothing toxic or synthetic. Dami’s aim is to provide solutions that achieve results, using well considered and natural ingredients, and you can see it works from how incredible her skin looks here! Dami is a master of creating delicious scents so her range also includes a selection of diffusers too; I’ve got one in my bathroom and it is 10/10 perfection. There’s always a crowd around her stall smelling every single thing because they’re all absolutely divine and really carry through the whole house!

Kids

Conkers Handknits: I can’t think of anything more sweet than these individually handmade children’s knits from Conkers Handknits. The perfect thing for your littles as the season starts to change. Katy’s collection features lots of really classic shapes and themes, and everything is handmade by her using 100% cotton yarn. My nan always told me that gifting a knit to a new baby is the ideal present as the weave grows with them so it lasts and lasts and can be worn for ages. The Ladybird cardi is my ultimate fave.

Deli products

Miam Jars: Me and Liv are both trying to reduce our intake of highly processed foods so we’re really excited to discover former chef Rachael and her amazing array of delicious things in jars which are all plant-based, homemade and have no added nasties. Designed to make plant-focused cooking more delicious and easy (whether you’re vegan or not!) Especially for the market Rachael has made a really special and exclusive Salad Days jar! A gin and blueberry drizzle you could add to pancakes, icecream or homemade cake. I absolutely can’t wait to try this!

Bakery & Ice Cream

Marcelo’s Ice Cream: Sunny weekend in London + eating artisan icecream = the perfect combo. Popping up all weekend with us is the one and only Marcelos’s Ice cream. Makers James and Lindsay will be slinging scoops of their absolutely delicious, vegan, and locally made ice cream all day long. This luxury artisan icecream is made down the road in South London using an in-house oat milk and only the finest most fresh seasonal ingredients.

Mr Desserts: The love we have for Moyin at Mr Deserts is actually unrivalled because he’s the nicest guy ever who brings THE MOST DELICIOUS, extravagant, chunky and luxurious cupcakes and cookies to our market. What’s not to fall in love with? The Birthday Cake, the Cookies and Cream… I just need you to tell me you’re going to come to the market and try one. Moyin is fanatical about his ingredients and baking process, only using the best of the best to ensure these baked goods are 10/10 every single time and we can confirm he absolutely achieves this. Head down to try yours at our market on Saturday 31st August.

Farine Kitchen: Having spent months perfecting their absolutely delicious recipes, South London sissies Elisia and Niamh have recently launched their blondie and brownie biz: Farine! With part-French heritage and using only the finest organic ingredients, it’s little surprise that these freshly baked treats are absolutely divine. The branded packets are so cute and fun, the perfect little to take home, plus this sissy duo just happen to be super gorgeous, friendly and lovely too. Take home the brownie mix to make yourself (tried and tested, can confirm it’s easy and the outcome is VERY tasty) or buy a ready made goodie on the day.
